Marcel Luske is proud of many highlights in his poker career. In 2003, he participated in the European Poker Classic £1,500 No Limit Hold’em. He won in his first major live tournament, and brought home $116,940. In the following year, Marcel continued to please fans in his performance in the 2004 World Series of Poker $5,000 Seven Card Stud. He was able to place 2nd in the tournament and won $120,800. He also competed in the $10,000 Championship Main Event and placed 10th. He was able to take home $373,000. In 2005, Marcel widened his victories by participating in the Five-Star World Poker Classic $2,000 No Limit Hold’em in April. He won the tournament and collected $212,070. A few months later he snatched another victory when he participated in the €10,000 Hall of Fame Poker Classic, and won $142,503. Marcel joined the Master Classics of Poker €5,000 Main Event and placed 4th in the tournament and won $102,462.

In 2006, Marcel played in the European Poker Tour €10,000 Monte Carlo Grand Final and finished 7th place. He won an amount of $134,902. In April, he returned in the Five-Star World Poker Classic $3,000 No Limit Hold’em and achieved victory once again. He scooped the top place and came home with $315,630. He also returned to the World Series of Poker for the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em and won $204,638. Two years later, Marcel competed in two more events in the World Series of Poker, namely the $3,000 HORSE and the $5,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. He placed 3rd for the HORSE event, and  4th for the Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo., and won $110,264 and $95,069 respectively.

Noah’s first taste of a major live poker tournament was in 2004. He participated in the first season of the European Poker Tour London and played in the £3,000 No Limit Holdem. He was able to secure 6th place and won a total of $30,196. Noah continued to play in the following year of the European Poker Tour, at the Copenhagen leg. He competed in the DKr19,300 No Limit Hold’em event and made an amazing 1st place finish. This was his first victory and was able to walk home with $191,355. In 2006, Noah took part in the British Poker Open and made another impressive performance. He won the tournament for an amount of $87,371. After several months, Noah returned to play in the 2006 European Poker Tour Barcelona €4,800 No Limit Hold’em event. Noah held on to a 12th place and obtained $32,178. In 2007, Noah headed to Dublin for the European Poker Tour €7,700 No Limit Hold’em event which he was able to place 14th. He brought home $29,429. In November, Noah did well in the Master Classics of Poker €5,000 No Limit Hold’em. He got his biggest major tournament earning which is $201,032.

Noah continues to take his game to the next level, aiming for his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet. Aside from playing poker, he is also a great host on a Dutch television poker show together with Marcel Luske. Noah also loves to travel the world and hopes to succeed someday.

Aside from Powerboat racing, Sami also has other exciting interests in life. He is also an enthusiast of motor racing, which is also as dangerous as obstacles of the sea. He also indulges in scuba diving and golf. When it comes to games, Sami is not as inexperienced as you think. Besides his interests, Sami is a great enthusiast of poker. He loves to play the game and has decided to keep it as one of his life interests. Sami has started to play poker online. He decided to earn from his other passion and cashed-in in PokerStars events. Despite the short time that he has played poker, Sami keeps on playing and improving his game. He keeps on competing in online tournaments as much as he can. Unknown to most ice hockey fans, Mats is the first European player to be drafted in the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques during the 1990-91 season. He did not disappoint in his debut season with the Nordiques. He was able to establish his name and become one of the best young players in the league. A few years later, Mats transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs wherein he had the longest stay in his carer. He played for the Leafs for 14 seasons, and it is here where he was developed into one of the greatest hockey players of all time.  After a memorable stay with the Leafs, Mats transferred to the Vancouver Canucks in 2008 and continued to improve and impress hockey fans from all over.

Mats is proud to have an excellent career record. He is the 20th all time in career goals. He is also the 32nd all time in career assists, and 25th all time in career points. He is the first Swedish player to achieve 500 goals, and has the most career games, points, goals, and assists by a Swedish ice hockey player. Mats is the record holder for most regular season overtime goals, together with Jaromir Jagr, Sergei Federov, and Patrik Elias. Mats is currently a member of Team PokerStars Nordics and plays great poker.

In 2004, Johnny started to compete in live tournaments in order to improve his game. On December, he started his campaign in the St Maarten Open and was able to produce an astonishing victory. He competed in the $500 No Limit Hold’em event and was able to bring home $26,430.

In the following year, Johnny continued his campaign and played in the Swedish No Limit Hold’em Championships. He was still able to impress by finishing 2nd in the event which was held in November. He took home a bigger amount of $55,225. In 2006, Johnny played in the European Poker Tour Barcelona €4,800 No Limit Hold’em in September. He finished 14th and gathered $26,287. Johnny continued to play in the European Poker Tour in 2007 and participated in the €5,000 No Limit Hold’em in Dortmund. He reached 13th place and won $27,387. Then, he traveled to  Monte Carlo in 2008 to compete in the European Poker Tour Grand Final. He made it to 17th place and achieved a huge amount of $73,263. In the same year, Johnny tried his luck in the World Series of Poker Europe which was held in September. He cashed in the Main Event of the tournament and finished 11th place. He snatched his biggest winning which was $98,756. In the following month, he traveled to Budapest to participate in the European Poker Tour. He competed in the €4,000 No Limit Hold’em and ended 8th place in the tournament. He was able to gather $66,577.

He joined his first World Series of Poker tournament ($3,000 No Limit Hold’em event) in 2005 finishing 18th overall, taking home a total earnings of $20,000. Turner can be found playing in various online sites, aside from being a full-time member of Full Tilt Poker. Many knows him in the online world not as Jon Turner but as “PearlJammer”, after his favorite band Pearl Jam. Aside from the various online winnings he got, he also scored a top place in the 2007 World Poker Tour Winter Poker Tour Open winning $72,000 in all. A few months after, he managed to reach the final table in the 2007 WSOP event finishing in 8th place and taking home a total cash win of $45,000.

But after joining live tournaments, he went back to his original choice of play: online multi-table tournaments. Right now, he has already pocketed over $1.6 million from all the online tournaments he participated. He attribute his victories from good bankroll management. He prefers playing on 12 to 15 tables all at once, never having to miss on all the good tournaments. He also make sure that he does not burn himself up from playing too much game. He makes it a point to take two days off his weeks not playing any game and just relaxing. Jon Turner currently resides in Henderson, a suburb of Nevada, but dreams on owning a house and living in Las Vegas someday.

Finally, after building his bank rolls from all the winnings he got from various online tournaments that he joined, he thought it was about time that he participate in big tournaments. A realization also came to him that he can actually support his own by making poker his career. So on 2007, he joined his first World Series of Poker tournament cashing in a total of $40,784 by participatin in two events: WSOP No Limit Hold’em and the WSOP No Limit Hold’em Championship. A few months later he tried his hand in the European Poker Tour Season 4 Event, finishing second place overall and taking home a total earnings of $34,664.

His biggest win, however, came from another EPT event- the 2008 European Poker Championships- when he took home a total cash win of $1,042,910, placing second overall again. He got his first top finish in the Master Classics Poker No Limit Hold’em event, earning a total of $225,321. The Swedish player cas accumulated an impressive bank roll on his own from his excellent poker playing placing him 8th on the Sweden All Time Money List.

He started playing in tournaments in 1999 at the 30th Annual World Series of Poker WSOP Limit Hold’em event. He managed to get into the 22nd place taking home a cash win of $3,555. His first top place came in the 2000 Customer Appreciation Week in the Limit Hold’em event where he took home a total earnings of $35,816. In 2001, he bagged the top place again this time in LA Poker Classic Limit Hold’e, where he took home $118,770 cash wins. In 2007, he bagged his first biggest cash win ever when he took home a total of $444,000 earnings in the 38th Annual WSOP World Championship $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E event. Even though he did not finish in the top place, it was a remarkable winning for Kenny’s part. However, this would prove not to be the last for him.

In 2008, Kenny won his first bracelet in the WSOP $10,000 World Championship Heads Up No-Limit Hold’em event, defeating 256 other players and winning 6 Heads Up matches in order to reach the final table. He defeated Alex Torelli twice in a best-of-three matches set. His total winnings from that tournament reached $539,056. Curently, Kenny Tran has a total WSOP and Circuit earnings of about $1.7 million. Despite the success and popularity this aggressive player has achieved, he gives back to his family in Vietnam by donating 10% of his winnings each time.

His skill set was put to the test when, in August of the year 2007, he joined the Million Euro Challenge in Full Tilt Poker. He ended up losing to Howard Lederer, but he did end up taking home €350,000. He also became a member of Full Tilt Pro at the time. Just a few months later, in June 2008, he proceeded to do what people could only dream about: he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in less than a year since he went pro. He joined the Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better event of the WSOP and ended up winning, taking with him $216,249. He is among the youngest bracelet winners in the history of the WSOP, and he truly serves as an inspiration to those who are looking to make it to the professional scene. He claims that he has more to learn, and it is true, and yet this early on, he expresses a desire to teach others of the skills that he knows of. He truly is living the dream – the poker dream.

Before becoming a professional poker player, Klecz was a key accounts manager. Unlike others who were introduced to the game by playing casually or by watching tournaments, Klecz’s first experience of poker was in an actual tournament. A friend of hers could not make it to a poker tournament that he could not attend, and so he asked her to sit in for him instead. She played the game and grew attached to it through that tournament. She moved on from being a key accounts manager to working through the casinos in both her home country and in the Netherlands, picking up some of the strategies of the people she encountered in the games that she joined. When she had made sufficient money for her bankroll, she decided to move to the mecca – Las Vegas. Once there, she made her mark in the international poker scene by joining the 38^th Annual World Series of Poker, where she placed 423^rd and took home $29,883. She followed this by appearing at the 2008 Crown Aussie Millions Championship the year after, and placing 14^th in the tournament.

While her biggest win so far remains to be her first tournament, her other big win came in early 2009, when she placed 42^nd at the European Poker Tour German Open Season 5. She ended up taking home $14,190 for that event. As of 2009, she has made over $54,000, which is a pretty good starting number for someone who has only recently started her career in professional poker. She is one woman to watch out for.

His most notable win happened only recently, though. In 2008, he joined the 39^th World Series of Poker 2008, and he finished eighth in the competition, taking home a whopping $1,288,217. This remains to be his biggest money finish to date, and it makes up majority of his total winnings since he started in his professiona poker playing career. This win is remarkable because he came into the final table short of the chips that the other players had, and many critics predicted him to finish one step lower than he actually did, but he managed to rise above expectation and win big, even when he only finished eighth. His positive attitude and his natural competitiveness makes him a very promising poker player, and he sure is to stay around in the poker scene for years to come.

Johnston has a long history with poker already. He has been playing poker since 1970, but he did not start joining tournaments until a decade after. He opened his professional poker playing career with a good note, debuting at the World Series of Poker in 1982 and finishing third, taking home $104,000. It was the following year that he won his first bracelet at the WSOP. His second win of the WSOP bracelet remains to be the most famous one, the 1986 WSOP No Limit Hold’em World Championship, where he ended up winning $570,000. the following wins are widespread. He won his third in 1990, taking home $254,000; his fourth, in 1995, where he won $91,200; and his final bracelet so far, in 2001, where he won $83,100. He has joined the WSOP twenty-seven times so far in his career, and he remains to be an active player to this day, so expect him to join even more. He is also a regular fixture at the Jack Binion World Poker Open, and he has appeared in the Poker After Dark series in NBC. As of 2009, he has made over $3.3 million, and over $2 million of these winnings came from the WSOP tournaments alone. He was inducted in the Poker Hall of Fame in 2004, and he is considered to be a legendary poker player of the modern time.

Karina Jett did not plan to make a living out of playing poker professionally in the beginning. She was a political science major, and though her mother had taught her tips and strategies to win various poker games, she had not considered to make poker her profession. She was called upon by her family to help in the family’s business in Las Vegas, though, and this was when her perspective changed. She ran into old friends, who invited her to play in local casinos weekly, and she did. It was here that her eyes were opened to the fact that she had skill in the game. She used this skill to make money for her family, and in the process she improved her skills in the game of poker.

Jett’s mother played the Seven-Card Stud outstandingly, and so this was where Karina began. She later on made the switch to No-Limit Hold’em, though, because the stakes were higher and the game became more popular. She entered the tournament scene playing Hold’em when she joined the $300,000 Fall Poker Classic and won second. Her biggest win so far was in the 2005 London Open, where she won $45,000 at their No-Limit Hold’em event. Since she began playing poker, she has made over $140,000, and she ended up meeting and marrying the love of her life because of her interest in the game.

Johannes has discovered his passion in the world of poker. He was naturally good at the game, and possessed great strategic skills that is essential in poker.  This led him to become one of the greatest professional poker players in the European Poker Tour. He has created an outstanding record that consisted of four top-ten finishes. Johannes participated in the 2007 European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo. He was able to secure 23rd place in the tournament, and walked away with $44,253. After the tournament, Johannes continued to succeed by making it to the final tables of four events. In the first event which is Season 4 European Poker Tournament in Prague, he was able to secure 9th place and walked away with $57,439. In the second event which is European Poker Tour in Dortmund, he was able to secure 6th place and walked away with $223,077. In the third event, which is Season 5 European Poker Tour in San Remo, he was able to secure 9th place and walked away with $221,056. The four events were great memories for the German national. These experiences turned him into one of the most brilliant and respected professional poker players in Europe. Johaness still continues to improve his game as much as he can, and aims to win the tournament someday. Thanks to his strategic skills in Starcraft, Johaness is here to dominate.

Sandra suddenly found herself playing poker. She learned about the game and played online poker. She played as often as she can in online tournaments. In a matter of time, she was winning poker tournaments. She became inspired and decided to play in live tournaments. Sandra gained more experience and started to compete in bigger tournaments. She participated in the Casino Austria Poker Tour and competed against Alexander Kravchenko. To everyone’s surprise, she defeated the  Russian World Series of Poker holder, and received $240,000. This win made her one of the most respected female professional poker players. Consequently, she was hailed the 2008 European Poker Player of the Year. Later, she participated in the European Poker Tour which was held in Dortmund. It was a great moment for Sandra since she was able to win the tournament that consisted of 666 competitive poker players. This victory made Sandra the second female poker player to achieve this. She also became the first woman to accomplish this in the European Poker Tour. Sandra was just amazing and was able to deliver in live tournaments, especially in the European Poker Tour. Sandra achieved success not only because she was fortunate, but also because she was very passionate about the game and played with class. She is truly one of the best poker players in the world who has gained the respect that she deserves.

His passion for poker started to materialize by the time he entered college. Florian studied Media at a university in Dresden. During his college life, Florian had a shoulder injury and underwent operation. After the surgery, he rested at home for two weeks. Fortunately, he was introduced to poker by a friend, and during his rest, he was able to establish his bankroll. Florian has become focused on poker and played online as much as he can. He often played at Fixed Limit Holdem games at PokerStars. As Florian gained lots of experience in online poker, he decided to try his luck at live tournaments. In no time, Florian achieved success in the world of poker. In 2006, Florian won the German Poker Championships which was held in Berlin. He was able to collect $49,045 in the tournament. Later, he continued doing well in tournaments and made a lot of final table appearances all over Europe. He was able to bring impressive performances in the European Poker Tour. He was able to finish 9th place in the European Poker Tour Dortmund Main Event. He was able to win $63,255 in the Main Event. Florian finished 4th place in the European Poker Tour Grand Final $25,000 High Roller event which was held in Monte Carlo. He was able to collect $247,193. He finished 2nd place in the PokerStars Carribean Adventure $4,800 No Limit Holdem event in 2009. Florian has exceeded the average guy and made a fortune out of poker. He is now considered as one of the wealthiest professional poker players in Germany.

Benjamin first hit the jackpot in the year 2006 when he joined the European Poker Masters in Paris, France. He was able to win a whopping amount of 100,354 US dollars. His second vicotry came during the European Poker Tour where he raked in 19,199 US dollars for finishing in eleventh place. He also made a big splash when he joined the European Poker Tours in San Remo and the Grand Finals in Monte Carlo, bringing in big bucks with every game. Not limited to the EPT tournaments, he’s also participated in the World Series of Poker and WSOP Circuit Events as well as the prestigious World Series. With the buy ins amounting1,500 US dollars to a maximum of about 10,000 US dollars, the returns are definitely worth it. For a businessman like Benjamin, clearly the capital generates much, much more profit in poker than in the real world of marketing, trading and stocks.

Ben still has a long way to go before being the world’s best poker player, but he’s definitely got a head start! When not in the casinos, Ben is just a regular guy who enjoys movies, beaches and water sports like sailing.

When Jan entered the poker scene, he instantly became a German pro who was able to victoriously sweep plenty of cash prizes during the European Poker Tour. His first game was the World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas. Here, he was able to win two cash ins and by the time the European Poker Classics rolled in at London, he raked in a whopping 127,271 US dollars. During the fourth season of the European Poker Tour, he bagged an impressive amount of 25,536 US dollars, He continued on to a victorious World Series where he made 23,160 US dollars for finishing at 585.

Jan continues to learn the different strategies used in playing poker, and still holds home poker nights with his close friends once in a while just to practice and have fun – of course, these friends are probably casino buddies who are also extremely experienced in poker! With all his accomplishments, Jan Heitmann is truly a “Poker Star”.

In order to play Buy Your Card, gather a sufficient number of players. It is necessary that each player has an equal amount of chips that is also equivalent to the buy-in cost. It is also important to make each player know the number of betting rounds in the game in order to prepare them. In a typical game of Buy Your Card, there are around three to five betting rounds. At the start of the game, the dealer hands three cards face down and two cards face up. Next, the players hold an initial betting round wherein the player who has the best hand face up starts the betting. After the betting round, the dealer places three cards face up on the table, and places the deck beside the three cards. At this point, each of the players can choose to trade one of his personal cards for one of the three cards face up on the table. Each of the players can also trade one of his personal cards for a card on the deck. Before a player can trade cards, he is required to discard one of his personal cards first. Each player who decides to participate in a buying round needs to pay a certain amount to the pot. The price of the cards are as follows: a card from the deck costs four units, the card closest to the deck costs three units, the second closest card costs two units, the farthest card costs one chip of the lowest betting limit. A player who buys a card face up needs to be placed on the table face up. Likewise, a player who buys a card face down needs to be placed face down as well. The players  take a card from the deck every time they trade a card during their turn. After the buying rounds, a betting round follows which is initiated by the player who owns the best hand face up. The winner of the pot is the player who has the best hand.

Before the game starts, each player is required to place a petty amount into the pot. This petty amount is also regarded as the ante, which is a requirement in seven card stud games. After each of the players has placed his ante, the players can start the game. The dealer hands two cards face down to each player. After each of the player has received their cards, a betting round comes after. After the players have called, raised or folded, the dealer hands a card face up to each player. If a queen emerges as a card face up, the player who receives it is required to place an ante twice the initial amount. Consequently, the player who is seated right of the person who receives the queen receives a card that becomes wild, which requires him as well to place an ante twice the initial amount. Another betting round comes after, and the dealer hands a  card face up to each player. The same process regarding the queen applies at this point. The previous wild card is canceled out if a queen is picked up. The players have the option of asking for a final card face up or retain their cards and prepare for a showdown, during the last round. The player who possesses the greatest hand wins the pot. Follow The Queen is a fun game because of the existence of wild cards and doubling of antes. What makes it even more fun is that the game is restarted if no one receives a queen card face up. Players start the process again by placing antes because in Follow The Queen, “No queen, No game”.

Before the players proceed, each one is required to pay a small amount of chips that will be placed in the pot. This small amount is actually known as the ante. The ante is a common requirement in seven card stud games. Once all players have submitted their antes, they can now proceed with the game. The dealer hands each two cards face down to each player. After this, the dealer hands one card face up to each player. The wild cards in the game are the nines. A distinct characteristic in Winter Baseball is that the dealer hands an additional card face down to a player who receives a four. Another distinct characteristic is when a player receives a three. When a player does receive a three, he can either place an amount equivalent to the pot or sell the three card. A player can buy the three by paying the price set by the owner, and by matching the amount of the pot. In case no one is interested in buying the three, the players must either place an amount equivalent to the pot or fold.

After the betting round, the dealer hands a fourth card face up to each player. After the players have received their cards, they simply undergo the same process stated earlier, and it applies for the following betting rounds. A betting round follows, and the dealer hands a fifth card face up to each player. A betting round follows, and the dealer hands a sixth card face up to each player. A betting round follows, and the dealer hands a seventh card face down to each player. A final betting round follows, and a showdown takes place. The player who arrives with the best five card hand wins the pot.

The exciting part of the game though lies in the wild cards. There are designated wild cards in each half which in the case of high hand, the Threes are the wild cards and in the case of low hand, the Kings are the wild ones. Before the game could start, players must all place their antes. After everyone has placed their ante, the dealer will proceed in giving five cards each to all players. All cards are facing down. After this a betting round will start with players opting to check, raise or fold.

Drawing will follow right after the first betting round starting with the player sitting to the left of the dealer. Players may discard a maximum of three cards from their hands in which the dealer will replace with the same number of cards discarded. The second and final betting round will follow just like the first one. After the betting is done, players will now proceed in the showdown part where players must reveal and declare their hands. Dealer will award the half of the pot to the high-half winner and half of the pot to the low-half winner. In the case of one player winning both, called scooping the pot, that player is awarded the whole pot.

First thing to remember in Kings and Little Ones is this: all Kings are wild cards. The second most important thing to remember is that each player also have their own wold card in form of the lowest cards in their hand. For instance, player A has the following cards in their hand: 4, 10, Q, K and 10. In this case, your personal wild card is the 4. Since there is a King in your hand, you can exchange your 4 and K to a couple of Queens to make it a full house Queen with a pair of 10. Declaring of card in this game is important, once it has been declared it can never be changed so make sure that the hand you chose to declare is the best one possible.

Aces can be played as low or high card, depending on the use and the need. There are two betting rounds in Kings and Little Ones, the first is the initial bet and the second after discarding and drawing of cards from the players. After final betting, players will now reveal their cards with the dealer determining the best hand. In the case of two same low cards, that two cards will be considered as both wild cards, totaling your wild cards to three.

The game starts with each player placing an ante, a forced bet to be added in the pot. After this is done, the dealer will now give four cards to each player, all facing down. The dealer also puts three cards in the middle of the table where everyone can see it and these too, are all facing down. The cards in the middle of the table are called the community cards, for players to utilize later in the game. After each players has studied their cards, a betting round will start. Depending on their cards, players can either call, check, raise or fold in this part. The player sitting to the dealer’s left will start calling.

After the betting is done, drawing of the card will follow. In this part of the game, each players can discard cards that they do not want in exchange for something hopefully better. The number of cards discarded will be replaced with the same exact number by the dealer. Players who are content with the cards in their hand may opt not to discard any card. A second round of betting ensues followed by turning the first card among the three community cards in the table. Two more betting rounds will follow until all the community cards in the table has been turned up. Then the final betting round will commence before the showdown. From the four cards in the player’s hand and one from the three community cards, they must make their best five-card hand in order to take the pot home.

Like any regular poker game, Three Legged Race uses a typical 52-card deck, with cards dealt by the dealer. Antes must be placed first before giving out the cards. After the antes has been placed, the dealer will proceed in dealing five cards to each player. After everyone has received their cards, the betting round will follow. Players can check, call, raise or fold in this round. After the betting is finished, players must now discard three cards from their hand. Cards thrown out will be replaced by the dealer with exactly the same numbers as discarded. Once the cards has been replaced, a second round of betting will follow.

Once the player has made their turn in the betting round, they must show their hand right after. Player with the best poker hand wins that leg. Remember that in this game, a player must win three legs in order to get the pot. Once the first leg has finished, a new game will begin following the same mechanics. All players are required to place their ante again in order for them to be included in the game. While it is not exactly easy to win the three legs, the accumulated pot from all the legs will be something for everyone to look forward to at the end of each leg because it keeps on getting bigger and bigger. This game also might take longer than the usual poker game with winning not sure to be bagged by any player, unless consistently won, so players try to keep the pot as low as possible.

The basic premise of Six Back draw poker variant is the number of initial cards dealt to each player at the beginning of the game. Each players will receive six cards from the dealer as opposed to the usual five. To start the game off, players must pay an ante to be added to the whole pot. After this is done, the dealer will proceed in giving each player six cards, all face down. A betting round will follow starting with the player to the dealer’s left. He can either check or bet. If he chooses to bet or raise, all the other players in the table must either call on that, raise another bet or fold.

After the betting round is done, the drawing round will commence. In the drawing round, players may still discard cards of their choice. In return though, the dealer will give them one less card from what they have originally discarded. If for example, Player B discarded three cards, he will be handed two cards only in return to make their cards to a total of five now. By this time, all players are left with a total of five cards each in their hands, just like a regular five card draw poker game.This will be followed by the second and final betting round. The scholars deduced that the reason behind this is so that players would not be hindered by anything whether it is extra weight or a garment that can accidentally get tangled up in obstacles along the way. They begin the race at a standing position by the starting line, arms outstretched in front of them. Nowadays, races are begun with a slightly crouched position with the head low and the knees bent, body leaning forward.

Step 1. Distribute the cards until each player is holding five cards. Two decks of cards are used but there are no community cards.

Step 2. Players take a look at their cards, make a wild guess at what cards their players might have, and make a well calculated bid at what hand can be formed using their own cards and combining those with that of their opponents’. Bids start with the lowest possible guess – in this game, the lowest hand possible would be a three of a kind starting with the 2.

Step 3. There will be one more round of bidding. Take note that players may opt to “pass”. A samplebidding process would be:

Player 1: three 2’s (this is the lowest bid possible)

Player 2: three 7’s (7 is higher than 2)

Player 3: pass

Player 4: four 3’s (although 7 is also higher than 3, having four of a kind with any value is always higher than any three of a kind combiantion)

Player 5: four 5’s  (five is higher than 3)

Player 1: five 5’s (five of a kind is higher than four of a kind)

All other players decide to pass, highly doubting that five 5’s is a possible combination.

Step 4. The highest bid, based on the example above, is five of a kind with 5 as the value of the combination. Everyone shows their cards. If the highest bid is true – that is, if all 25 cards can form a five of a kind with 5 fives, then everyone will only be dealt four cards in the next round, giving the winning bidder an advantage.

Step 5. Another round begins. The goal of the game is to be the only player with cards left.

Step 1. Take two standard decks of 52 cards each and start by picking out the Jack of Spades, Queen of Diamonds, King of Clubs and the Ace of Hearts from the second deck of cards. Place them at the center of the table facing up. These are the special cards which will fuction as the Pay or the Boodle Cards.

Step 2. Take one chip and place it on the Pay or the Boodle Cards before the dealer strikes the first deal. The dealer is required to put two chips.

Step 3. The first deck of cards is shuffled by the dealer and distributed to each player and to a spare hand. The distribution of cards continues until all the cards in the deck have been exhausted.

Step 4. Gameplay is started by the player sitting on the dealer’s left. He takes his lowest card (the suit does not matter) and places it face up on the table.

Step 5. All the other players are then required to place their next-highest card of the same suit face up on the table. The lowest card among those newly shown is played. This goes on until no one can show any more next-highest cards in that suit or until an Ace comes out.

Step 6. Keep playing in order until the Ace is played or until no one has the next highest card in the suit. The last card played, as long as it is not an Ace, is called the “stop card.”

Step 7. The player who is able to show a card that matches one of the cards on the table takes all the chips under the said card/s.

Step 8. When cards are used up, another round begins and so on. The objective of the game is to have the most number of chips.

Four players sit on a square table, one player taking each side (North, South, East and West). First, players shuffle all the tiles together, which lay face down at the middle of the table. Each side should have about 17 to 18 tiles so that everything is fair. Players then roll the dice and pick out 13 to play with. The perosn at the East takes 14 because, as the player who starts the round, he must discard one tile. Mahjong is basically a game of discarding and collecting tiles. Each player discards a tile and picks one from the pile. They may also opt to keep the tile previously discarded by the player before them, but then they must give up a tile in their set. Just like Gin Rummy, the objective is to have a hand with all the combinations (three-of-a-kind, four-of-a-kind, or identical tiles from the same suit) required to win.

A standard deck of 52 cards is used. Four cards are placed in a row between the players. These four cards are facing up. The rest of the cards are grouped together in piles of four. The game begins when the dealer shouts “GO!”

Each of the players open the piles of cards one at a time. They examine the four cards of the pile based on the four cards in the center facing up. They use the cards on the pile to form a four of a kind combination.

For example, the four cards at the center row are: 9 J 4 9

Player 1 flips the first pile of cards and sees: 7 8 9 10

Player 1 exchanges the J on the center row for the 9 from the first pile.

The four cards at the center row are now: 9 9 4 9

Player 2 opens a pile of cards and sees: 10 4 5 8

Player 2 exchanges one of the 9’s on the center row for the 4 on the pile.

This kind of gameplay continues until finally, a player is able to form four cards of the same kind on the center row. This game is quite a challenge, because the center pile is always changing and players never have a clue as to what hands the other players are trying to form. Also, speed is required as well as being able to make decisions quickly. Another skill that would be useful is having a sharp memory. It is would be much easier if players each had a pile of cour cards to work with individually, but of course this variation is less fun. Once he does it, he should shout “JAMES BOND!” and no one will be allowed to touch the center pile.

This got me thinking: what card game can I introduce to my children that has nothing to do with gambling but is still exciting and interesting? This made me recall that time my friends and I were fooling around. One of my friends, a deck of cards in his hand, asked me “Would you like to play fifty two card pick up?” I shrugged and nodded, thinking he would teach me the mechanics of this strange game. He didn’t. Instead, he shuffled the deck of cards a couple of times, took out a stopwatch from his pocket…and then threw all fifty two cards in my direction. “Pick them up!”, he shouted as he pressed the start button on the stopwatch. I panicked for a bit, and started scooping up as many cards as I could. It took me a minute before I recovered and we started laughing. 52 card pick up is a funny game that can be played as a joke with friends, or as a simple card game with kids. The mechanics are easy to understand, the only thing you would need is a deck of cards, and the bes tpart is – nobody loses!

After each person has acted, the dealer gives himself a second card as well. The general rule for Blackjack dealers is that they should keep dealing until they get a 17 or higher. Since the goal is to get 21, players seemingly have a greater advantage because the dealer has a greater chance of getting a bust (going over 21) than getting cards that are valued from 17 – 21. The house pays out 2:1 if the player wins over the dealer and pays out 2.5:1 if the player gets a Blackjack.

Hockey betting does not attract as much attention as betting on basketball or American football, mainly because these two sports are often on the spotlight and hockey is a sport that does not necessarily appeal to all types of people. Now if you’re not that much of a risk-taker, and you want to be able to bet using more combinations, then you might want to “box” your selections. Boxing is where you get a collection of team numbers and you win if these teams make it to the win, place, and show positions in any order at all, just as long as they are all there. Alternatively, you can try a popular bet that is made, which is a key bet, wherein you pick a number to win – the “key” – and then you indicate other teams that you believe will place and show, but you do not specify what positions they will acquire; you just give the numbers. These types of betting are for those who want to play it safe, and is probably what you should try if it’s your first time betting on a jai alai game.

You have to remember a few things when you are betting for a cricket game. First and foremost, always remember that you have the option to bet for a draw, mainly because cricket is a game that can go on for days without any conclusive results. One such bet is the parlay, where you bet on different teams, and the objective is for all the teams that you bet on to win for you to win the prize as well. It’s a safer type of bet than the parlay, but it’s just as quick to win big money if your teams end up winning. Then there are the future book wagers, where, as the name suggests, you bet on future games, and you can even mix this up with other betting types in order to bet on the outcomes of the entire season. Finally, there are the proposition bets, wherein you can bet on almost anything that you expect will happen in a game. This is basically any bet other than the aforementioned bet types. The best way to make the most out of this event is to find different oddsmakers, and bet different outcomes; that way, you can win either way. Be careful though – don’t get two that know each other, or that work for the same place. It’s an enjoyable pasttime if you’ve got the money, so try it out sometme.

This board game makes use of a board with twenty-four numbered long triangles, or points, distributed equally on each side (so that’s twelve on each side); chips, and dice, and only two players can play the game per board. What you have to do is to be able to get the chips around the board, to your own home board, and then get the chips out of the board, before your opponent does. This is done by rolling  two dice and moving your chips on the board from the 24 point to the 1 point in opposing directions. There are rules to this movement – for instance, you cannot move your chips into a triangle that has more than one chip of the opponent’s there, and you can only remove chips from the board once they’ve made it back to your homeboard, in the 1-6 points. A doubling cube may also be included in order to speed up the game. This is used to challenge the opponent for double the stakes, and this speeds up the game such that the challenger may only accept or immediately drop the game and hand over the victory to his opponent. If you’re up for a five thousand year-old game that still keeps people on the edge to this day, then this game is for you.

Cribbage, or crib, is a game that first came into the sene in the 17th century, created by Sir John Suckling to change up the game of noddy. The game uses your standard deck of cards, and a board for scoring, called the crib. The objective of the game is simple: you have to be the first to get 121 points in order to win. The game begins with players drawing cards, and the person who gets the lowest value is going to be the dealer for that game. Each player is then dealt six cards (if there are two players) or five cards (if there are more than two players), and then the players decide which four of these six cards they would like to keep. The cards that they do not decide to keep are placed in a pile near the assigned dealer, which would be the crib, and the dealer will be using these cards later on in the game. Anyway, one of the players who did not deal will cut the deck, and then take the top card and lay it on the table. This will be the cut card, and is also known as the “starter”. This will be a wild card added to the total of the players’ hands later on in the game.

The players then start laying cards one by one, and they declare the value of their cards when they lay them down. These cards have scores attached to them, and these scores are pegged on the cribbage board. The total should not exceed thirty-one. When there are no more cards to be played, the last player who has no more cards says “go”, and earns one point. Then the cards laid down are counted and scored accordingly. Some of the rules include: the last person to lay down a card earns a point, and if he makes exactly thirty-one points by this time then that earns him another point. Getting an exact score of fifteen earns that player two points; laying down the same value of cards will earn you different points depending on the order – if one player lays down one 8 and then the next player lays down another 8, that’s already two points for the second player; another 8 from a third player, and that’s six points; and another 8, and that will be twelve points for that player. If, during the cut, the cut was a jack, then the dealer gets two points automatically; if not, then at this stage, the person with the jack of the same suit as the cut card will get one point. Consecutive cards, which do not have to be necessarily of the same suit, will gain one point per card. A flush would be four points, and cards with the same suit in your hand are only given points if the cut card also has the same suit; then, it will be five points. All card combinations that add up to fifteen are two points, regardless of how many cards were used to get there. As mentioned, the first one to get 121 points wins the game.

The Ancient Olympic Games offered a variety of different  running competitions back then, although these games were not introduced at the same time. It began with just the stadion, a simple and basic sprinting competition, and then it evolved continuously to provide the event with other foot race competitions that their athletes can compete in. One of the later foot races introduced was the hoplitodromos, which debuted in the Ancient Olympics back in 520 BC. Since its introduction, it was always held last in the entirety of the competition, and I would imagine it to be because of its different nature from the rest of the games.
The hoplitodromos is more of a military exercise than it is a game, because of the equipment involved. It is a test of strength as much as it is of speed and stamina, unlike the other foot races which test only your speed and stamina. What the players do is they put on the leg guards or the greaves, and the helmet of the hoplites or the citizen soldiers of the time. They have to run an entire lap, which would be like the lap in diaulos, and like diaulos, they have a kampter or a turning post where they can assist themselves in turning. They have to do this sprint carrying the aspis, which is the shield of the hoplites. All in all, they carry an extra fifty pounds when they perform this activity. This not only proved their athletes to be strong and able men; this also helped improve the performance of their soldiers at war, as they were able to move quickly even with all their equipment. Today we have no more games like such in the modern Olympics, but we see the armies training to move faster with their equipment as well.
